From Pillar to Post

This is the story of my life, and the people, places, and events which have made it a story worth telling. I started writing this book when I neared fifty years of age. Now some ten years later, my life is much different and I can now complete the story.

I hope that I am able to thank those who helped me along the way, and explain how I may have been seen as a very different person as the years passed. In particular, I dedicate this book to the people who gave me the opportunity to be who I am today. Hopefully they all get a mention in the following pages, but especially Peter Shaw, who was my housemaster and shoe making instructor at school. To ‘Uncle’ Bernard Shaw, who looked after me and my family for a number of my formative years, and to my wife Charlotte, who has been at my side for the best years of my life. Thank you all.
